The Dancing House Besieged by Naked Women – INTERVIEW
An interview with MÁRIE PETREJ, the creator of the unconventional project The Last Exhibition of Real Naked Women, which will take place this time from April 17 to 21, 2018 in one of the most beautiful buildings in the world—Prague’s Dancing House. This will not be a display of photographs or mannequins, but real models in FETISH and BDSM poses, whom we will even be able to touch… Much like the previous Voayer exhibition of nude women.
Why did you choose the Dancing House exhibition hall?
Its management agreed to collaborate, so I didn’t hesitate for a second. Plus, the building is amazing, and when I say amazing, I want the final exhibition to live up to that. Seeing naked women in this space will be a very powerful experience.
On how many floors will the exhibition take place?
On three.
The building is very well-lit. Yet you need dim lighting so that the BDSM elements, in particular, stand out. Or is there perhaps a change planned in the exhibition setup?
It will start on the ground floor, from where it will descend to two underground levels… So the space will once again be without daylight.
How many models are expected to be on display?
With sixty-five, thirteen will be featured each day. Of course, this number may still increase.

How will the models be selected? Will recruitment be conducted online again?
The vast majority contact me via the form on the website or by email, which is publicly available. It will also depend on the bold female visitors; each will have the opportunity to present herself on-site.
The first exhibition took place in Bratislava, lasted twelve hours, and was visited by seven hundred people during that time. Last year you moved it to Prague, to the Dup39 gallery, where it was extended to three days. How many people visited it there?
Over one and a half thousand visitors.
That’s a nice number. This year’s exhibition will last two days longer, so I assume attendance will double, which must make you happy…
I have no idea how many people will show up. I only know that many tickets have already been sold through advance sales. What matters more to me is that the exhibition runs smoothly, as it has so far.

So it’s not sold out yet. However, in the tourism industry, Prague tends to be deserted on the weekends following Easter. Aren’t you concerned about the impact of this holiday?
I’m not concerned; the Dancing House alone is visited by over a thousand tourists every day.
Why does this year’s exhibition have the title “THE LAST”? Does that mean it won’t be repeated in the future?
Exactly. This is truly the final installment; I’d like to take the project in a new direction.
Has a similar event been held abroad?
I would venture to say that certainly not one like this. VOAYER is a unique event. Both in terms of its visual design, the venue where it takes place, and, of course, the visitors who attend. It should be noted that I do not create my exhibitions for a specific community of people, but rather for everyone who has an open mind.
Otherwise, there are many events around the world that feature naked people. It would be strange if such projects didn’t exist, especially since nudity is a natural thing.
The day before the exhibition opening in Bratislava, you were summoned to the local police station to provide a statement following a criminal complaint. Did anything similar happen last year?
No, it didn’t. Everything went smoothly.

You once promised to publish a book, a magazine featuring photos from previous exhibitions. What is the reality?
I announced the publication of a magazine that would contain exclusive photographs. After some time, however, I decided to postpone it to a later date.
I don’t want it to be a “half-baked” product; I prioritize quality. However, I am currently finishing up a book titled ME, VOAYER, in which I describe a year of my life during which, penniless and sleeping in my office, I built a global project. My life has changed, and I’d like to have that documented:)
Your exhibitions are attended by prominent figures, among others. Can you introduce our readers to any of them?
That’s true, but don’t ask me to name them. I want to be discreet.
What is the admission price?
Advance tickets are available for 699 crowns. They can be purchased at a discount here.
How will the event be organized?
Each of the five exhibition days is divided into four sessions, each lasting one and a half hours. I recommend that readers arrive at least fifteen minutes before the start of the session for which their ticket was purchased. As is customary, please expect a guided tour. Photography will again be ALLOWED.

P.S.: Do you like to snoop, too? If so, you’re not alone. Last year, the social research agency STEM/MARK surveyed over ten thousand men and women, revealing that 36 percent of men and 19 percent of women have experience with peeping…
P.S.: At previous exhibitions, some female visitors undressed and exhibited themselves of their own accord. This option is available now as well; all you have to do is contact the organizers. Visitors are allowed to “touch the exhibits” only while wearing sanitary gloves, and inserting fingers into bodily orifices is prohibited.
P.S.: The Dancing House was completed in 1996. It is nicknamed Ginger and Fred, after the shape of its two corner towers, which resemble the famous American dance duo Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. The architects are Vlado Milunić and Frank O. Gehry. The building’s address is Rašínovo nábřeží 1981/80, Prague 2, and the nearest tram stop is called Jiráskovo náměstí.
I started writing on a rather dull subject in the 1990s, and it wasn't easy. Today everything is moving in the right direction. I'm glad to be there. For tips on new events, contact me.
