The encyclopedia website Wikipedia really keeps up with the times. If you enter the query: “What is sexual assistance?”, it won’t let you down. It will tell you that it is an assistance service provided to people with disabilities, seniors, and the chronically ill—with the aim of enabling them to fulfill their sexual needs. A person who works professionally in sexual assistance is called a sexual assistant. For non-contact, passive assistance, the terms “intimate assistance” and “intimate assistant” are used. In the Czech Republic, this service was first provided in the fall of 2015. One of the sexual assistants is Diana Lovecká from Prague, a 37-year-old curvy blonde with a bust she certainly has no reason to be ashamed of.
How did you become a sexual assistant for people with disabilities?
I worked in a similar profession abroad. It just happened. All it took was for a client to ask me to satisfy his sexual needs, and I obliged… When I read about the sexual assistance project in the Czech Republic, I decided to try it here.
Who brought this project to the Czech Republic?
It was brought here by the organization Rozkoš bez Rizika in response to demand from clients with disabilities. This service has a long tradition in Switzerland, Germany, as well as in Austria and the Netherlands.
Was any training required? Is there a certificate for this?
Yes, instructors came from countries where sexual assistance has a long tradition. First, we were trained by Swiss sexologist Catherin; the next part of the courses was with Nina de Vries, the founder of sexual assistance in Germany. This was followed by lessons with Petr Eisner, an expert in intimate assistance in the Czech Republic.
That was the theory. Where did the practical training take place?
At a facility for people with intellectual disabilities.
So how many assistants have been trained to date?
Five. We have all received an official certificate, and we have also signed a code of ethics.
What is meant by a code of ethics?
Adherence to the highest standards in service provision. I ensure that, for the client, I remain solely the person who is in a relationship with them as theprovider of the agreed-upon service. Through my work, I commit to confidentiality. I act to the best of my knowledge and belief and set my own responsibilities and goals for my assistance work. I am aware of my capabilities and limitations. I prepare assistance, rituals, events, etc., by mutual agreement. I am entitled to adequate compensation for this work. Just as a senior caregiver must have a firm grip to shower them without causing injury, could an untrained assistant harm the client?
We collaborate with clients’ personal assistants to prevent any injuries.
Where can your service be provided?
Practically any private location that is wheelchair-accessible, if the client has a physical disability. Personally, I prefer to travel to clients’ homes or facilities where conditions are adapted to their needs and they feel comfortable.
Can you describe the service process?
Yes. The client, a family member, or a caregiver calls or writes. I answer their questions. For example, I ask about the disability: the type of disability or the extent of the client’s disability or illness. If I can fulfill their request, we then discuss the details—when, where, and for how much. After the appointment is set, the client, family member, or caregiver sends the travel fee to my account (according to the price list) or can top up their credit upon agreement (depending on the distance). At the agreed time for sex, I will travel to the client, or he will come to me (in this case, he does not pay travel expenses). When we meet, we’ll have a personal consultation—getting to know each other and finalizing his preferences. Once everything is agreed upon and payment for the sexual assistance has been made in advance, I’ll perform the service immediately.
Are there different techniques for satisfying a client?
Yes, of course. We always have to take the disability into account and agree on which technique will be most suitable. Usually, this involves a hand massage or oral sex. If the situation allows and it is physically possible, intercourse also takes place.
Do you use sex toys?
Yes, I do.
We’ve heard that there are, for example: an erotic trampoline, a rocking chair for intercourse, special pillows, and special vibrators…
Yes, they exist, but I have no personal experience with them. I use classic aids.
What is the price range for your services?
An hour of consultation alone costs 500 crowns. It may also include assistance with purchasing sex toys, lectures, and therapeutic activities. The actual sexual assistance costs 1,200 crowns per hour.
Is this about satisfying both men and women, or just men? What is the age range?
I provide services to men, women, and couples. The age limit is 15 years old for consultation or masturbation training. For sexual assistance, the age is 18 and up. There is no upper age limit.
As further noted on Wikipedia, until 2015, the services of sexual assistants in the Czech Republic were collectively considered pimping.
Since 2013, the organization Rozkoš bez rizika has been taking an interest in this issue in our country. At that time, in collaboration with foreign organizations , it launched the Right to Sex project, which was supported by the Ministry of Finance through the Swiss-Czech Cooperation Program. In 2015, the Ministry of the Interior issued an opinion establishing the conditions under which sexual assistance is legal. It stipulated that prostitution in the Czech Republic is not a criminal offense and that the services of sexual assistants are legal provided that clients seek out information about the services themselves without intermediation, which would be considered the criminal offense of pimping.
The organization Rozkoš bez rizika (Pleasure Without Risk), which is currently the only one working to raise awareness and train assistants in this field, is not allowed to act as an intermediary; it may only conduct awareness campaigns, publish a list of assistants (but not recommend any specific one), and may not derive any financial benefit or feedback from this.
