Erotic fairs and festivals have a relatively long history in the Czech Republic, but many have struggled with funding, attendance, and other issues. Why did you decide to start organizing the fair? Weren’t you deterred by the failures of your predecessors?
We thought long and hard about launching the Erotic Fair. We weighed all the pros and cons, taking into account what others before us had failed to achieve. Then all it took was a dash of courage, and the decision was made to take the risk. And to this day, we’re glad we did.
Did you encounter any problems or shortcomings with the fair that you learned from?
Organizing an event for about 10,000 people always comes with many challenges. As the saying goes, there are as many tastes as there are people. That’s why it’s not easy to please everyone. What one person sees as a problem, another sees as an advantage. Every year, something comes up that can be improved, and that takes our fair to the next level the following year. We welcome constructive criticism.
And while we’re on the subject of the fair, why an erotic fair and not a festival?
When we hear the word “festival,” we tend to think of a musical cultural event. A fair seemed more fitting to us.
What sections will the fair feature this year? A toy fair, individual themed stages, special zones—or can visitors look forward to a different layout?
In addition to the main stage program, visitors can look forward to the Ladies’, Men’s, Mixed, and Queer zones. We also have a VIP lounge ready for our most discerning visitors.
How many exhibitors do you expect this year?
Approximately 80 exhibitors have registered for the Erofest Erotic Fair this year.
Can you tell us who will be performing at this year’s fair?
The program is truly packed. Visitors can look forward to, for example, stars such as Tarra White, Lady Dee, Angel Wicky, Dr. Radim Uzel, the Divoké kočky drag show, Miss Sugar XXL, or new stars like Daisy Lee, LIL C from the USA and the fair’s biggest stars Hot Men Dance, a strip group from Hungary.
What criteria do you use to select performers for the fair?
We select performers based on our own experience.
Which performers have been the most successful in past years? Will they be at the fair this year as well?
It’s hard to say who has been the most successful. Every performer has their own fan base, and the applause is always huge.
How many girls entered the Miss Erotika contest this year?
This year, approximately 40 girls entered Miss Erotika. That isn’t a very large number, but we realize that it’s still linked to the prejudice that erotica means porn. Which isn’t the case, and many people don’t understand that. For us, erotica means sex appeal, a sparkle in the eyes, and other qualities. Even so, we think this year’s lineup of Miss Erotika 2017 finalists is strong.
And which finalists can we look forward to this year?
Beautiful, sexy women brimming with eroticism who have prepared an exciting show for the audience.
Last year (at least according to our editorial team), the VR booth of adult film seller and producer Reality Lovers was the biggest hit. Can we count on their participation this year as well? Or can we look forward to other interactive exhibitors?
Visitors will be able to Reality Lovers products at Erofest’s main partner Sexíčekshop.cz. Definitely yes; nearly every other booth tries to engage visitors in some way.
Is there an afterparty in store for fair visitors?
The Erofest erotic fair wouldn’t be complete without an afterparty. On both Friday and Saturday, we’ll wrap up the erotic fair in style at Střelecký Island, where a rich program awaits once again.
What exactly awaits visitors in the private ladies’ and boys’ zones?
In these zones, visitors can look forward to spicier and more intense experiences. We don’t want to reveal any more—let people be pleasantly surprised.
At some events, photography and filming are prohibited. How does it work at your event—will visitors be able to take photos and videos for their personal collections?
In Prague, it’s possible to take photos, film, and even get an autograph from your favorite star.
Will the erotic awards be presented again this year?
Yes, they will. The Erotic Awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday afternoon. We’re already looking forward to it and are curious to see who will win in each category.
Who decides the winners of these awards? Can visitors also participate in the decision-making process?
The winners of the erotic awards are decided by a special group of people who are experts and influential in their respective categories and who constantly follow current trends. Visitors cannot directly participate in deciding the winners, but for some award categories, such as the Best Social Media Relationship 2017 Award, we monitor their satisfaction.
What adult entertainment award categories can visitors look forward to?
The adult entertainment awards include the categories Best Starlet, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Foreign Actress, Best Foreign Actor, Best Director, Best Paysite, Best Scene/Movie, Best Social Media Relationship, Best Erotic Shop, Best Erotic Toy, Best Camera, and the special Hall of Fame.
Last year, roughly 10,000 visitors came to the fair. Do you expect greater interest this year?
Our fair is on the rise, so this year we expect approximately 15,000 visitors.
In November, you held a second fair in Bratislava. What led you to do that?
We tried to push the boundaries of the Erotic Fair a bit further, which is why we decided to hold an event in Bratislava as well. The first edition was attended by about 5,000 people, which we consider a success.
Do they also have such a rich history of erotic fairs and festivals in Slovakia?
A few erotically themed events have taken place in Slovakia, but they encountered major problems, and nothing has happened since then until our fair.
How will the Slovak fair differ from ours?
Yes, there are differences between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Slovaks are, unlike Czechs, still very religious and more reserved, but when you show them what they want to see, they know how to really enjoy the atmosphere. Czechs are party animals through and through. However, while Czechs won’t forgive a single mistake, Slovaks are more laid-back and nothing fazes them. Even so, we put our heart and soul into both events with maximum dedication and joy.

Obávám se, že jsme v době po sexuální revoluci, kdy vlna uvolnění odchází a občas to i sakra klouže. Nahrávají tomu navíc importované názory z puritánských zemí (nechci zde jmenovat např. jistou zemi za Atlantikem). Souvisí s tím nebezpečí spojené s harašmentem, cenzurou internetu, nesmyslnou nepřípustností jiného než svatého soukromého života veřejných činitelů, trestnosti držení některých obrázků a další. Souhrnně řečeno – žádná paráda a výhled spíše ještě horší.

já bych to tak černě neviděla 🙂
Bohužel už i z rozhovoru plyne, že veletrh neplní fce veletrhu. Tady bych se skutečně nechal inspirovat Berlínem. To co všechny zajímá, jsou novinky ze světa erotických hraček. Na nějaké vystoupení v podstatě téměř nikdo z návštěvníků není moc zvědavý. Lidi, které jsem tam potkal a bavil se očekávali přesně, to co jsem popsal. Ale bohužel veletrh toto očekávání nesplnil. Pan pořadatel by měl místo komponování show na stage uchopit do rukou marketingové nástroje a lákat prodejce, zajistit jejich bohatou účast a pokusit se o prezentaci těch nejzajímavějších a třeba i nedostupných kousků na našem trhu. Věřím, že drtivou většinu návštěvníků by to vedlo i ke koupi. Mraky stripu s pár stánkama ….. to dokonce ani návštěvníka, který jde poprvé na veletrh neuspokojí.
Zdravím, vyloženě (a jen osamocený bez doprovodného programu) veletrh hraček v republice nebyl roky a bohužel kvůli kupní síle asi nikdy nebude (podobného konceptu jako v Berlíně).
Právěže vaše představa o kupní síle Čechů je dost subjektivní, český trh s hračkami není tak velký jak si všichni mylně myslí. I samotné sexshopy mají problémy kvůli snižující se marži, takže i offline akce jsou pro ně větší zátěží než třeba v Německu. Kde marže budou podobné, ale mají násobně větší trh, trochu více nadšený z hraček a experimentování, a hlavně bohatší.
Takže vaši výtku chápeme, ale vidíme ten obor i z druhé strany díky našim recenzím a prostor na to bohužel není díky více aspektům. A osobně si myslím, že se to třeba v nejbližších 5 letech ani nezlepší (kór když přijde další očekávaná krize a hračky jako luxus půjdou ještě více stranou).
