Humans have used various means to enhance sexual performance since ancient times. Thanks to its properties, the avocado has become a widespread aphrodisiac. It was particularly popular with the ancient Aztecs, whose shape was very similar to the testicles. However, over time, the Spanish fly took its place in popularity. Do you know what they are and how they are used?
What-are-Spanish-flies?
The Spanish fly, or medicine fly, is a green beetle with elongated legs characterized by a strong-smelling fluid. The beetle splashes this around when it is threatened. This fluid contains a substance (venom) called cantharidin, which causes painful blisters and inflammation on contact with the skin. If ingested in overdose, it leads to poisoning and contact with the eye can cause loss of sight.

The effects of Spanish flies were enjoyed, for example, by the French greedy nobleman Marquis de Sade, who frequented brothels where he served cantharidin to prostitutes. Another well-known fan was even Giacomo Casanova or the wife of Gaius Julius Caesar.
Unfortunately, most of the sex games using this poison ended in severe abdominal pain that led to death. Over time, the poison’s popularity waned due to the high mortality rate, so it was used in combat or even in medicine, for example, to burn warts.

Many of us think of this term as small, inconspicuous flies, similar to the ones we are familiar with. However, puffins are a thermophilic species of beetle that are abundant in parts of southern Europe, particularly in Spain, where they thrive – hence the nickname “Spanish flies”.

Opinions on whether Spanish flies work vary variously. Some praise them and can’t get enough sex under their influence, others attribute the effects to the placebo effect. Either way, they are definitely worth trying, don’t you think? And now for my review itself, now that you have (hopefully) survived the admittedly boring but universally important introduction to the whole subject of midges from far away Spain.
My experiences
My partner and I followed the directions, which said to put 10 drops per spoonful, or in juice. I can confirm that it doesn’t change the taste, so it’s more for the user’s convenience than some uber necessity. When you also imagine 10 drops – for each, so 20 in total, you better believe this 100ml pack will last you an insurmountably long time. But will you want to use it?
Placebo or real?
With these products, it is difficult to evaluate (without a real blind study – any swingers club in the Czech Republic claiming to test it?) its effect without a placebo. Unless it works by imagining yourself taking a powerful aphrodisiac and it “clicks” in your head that it really does make you want to have sex.
For the 2 of us (we didn’t invite the mistresses) it definitely has an effect. We uniformly felt such an inner ripple that we were compelled to fuck several times during the day – the where, how and with what we’ll save for some porn story on Eromag :). Or why not have a few drops that contain nothing downright bad and have better/more horny sex from it? Makes sense for us. :))
