Bondage is an erotic practice often used in BDSM. By immobilizing your partner you are stimulating his senses and restricting his freedom = surprisingly, for many people it is a positive stimulus and a great sexual thrill. For bondage, ropes are usually used (since ancient times), later on pout and other restraining devices were added. These are the ones we have included in our review section.

Bondage, or erotic bondage, is one of the BDSM practices. It is a practice in which the binding restricts the partner’s movements and may even result in complete immobilization of the partner.

Erotic bondage under scrutiny

Tying can take many forms, the simplest of which include tying the hands or feet to the bedpost. Bondage (incorrectly referred to as bandage) can also take a decorative form, where a more ornamental binding occurs.

Among the most complex is highly elaborate binding, which also has ingenious knotting. They can not only act as a decorative element, but also make the tied person’s position significantly uncomfortable – the selected rope lines can undercut the breasts, the lap, or hold the tied person in an uncomfortable position.

Our editorial tying – basic instructions

We’ve broken down Bondage (or how to bind a human) in a multi-part BONDAGE tutorial.

Who is a rigger?

One who has been tying/knotting for a long time is referred to as a rigger – not necessarily a dominatrix, but just a lover of the aesthetics that can also be achieved with ropes – especially on the beautiful female body.

In the country, the best known riggersEdna Kinbaku and Joan von Brook are the two we interviewed very candidly.

Appreciated Shibari

Speaking of bondage (the art of rope), one can’t help but mention the Japanese one – Nawa Shibari – equivalent to the tea ceremony, with up to 500 years of history of the technique of tying up when apprehending criminals.

Shibari, divided into three forms of tethering:

  • Shinju – breast and upper body binding
  • Sukarabo – crotch and upper body binding
  • Karada – full body binding

Basic positions for bondage

There are three basic bondage positions:

  • Hogtie, the so-called pig tie or goat tie – the name comes from agriculture, when livestock were tied in this way. Ankles are tied with the wrists behind the back, with the “victim” lying on his stomach or side. This is a dangerous technique, as many sexual partners connect the tether to a noose around the neck, which can suffocate the victim.
  • Frogtie, frog tie – here the subject has his ankles tied to his thighs, which are bent and tied to his calves. The wrists are then strapped to the sides of the ankles.
  • Balltie is a ball-and-socket harness in which the person is tied in a ball, with their legs and thighs bent at the waist, also tied to the torso. This is a very uncomfortable position over time, the hands may be tied behind and in front of the body.

How do I get started with sexual bondage?

In the end, conservative couples will always be fine with a straight bandana or police handcuffs…. Alternatively, for lovers of colour and quick ties, there are the so-called bondage-bands – we’ve reviewed these for our readers as well.
