Penile burning after sex – a common problem
I finally figured out that the urethra of the penis is hypersensitive after ejaculation, and when concentrated urine (not diluted with a large amount of water) passes through it, irritation occurs, and thus a burning sensation.
This ailment bothered me for several years before I noticed the following: whenever I didn’t drink enough during the day (and didn’t stick to a proper hydration routine), the burning would occur (as if I were “peeing” boiling oil). I tried drinking more, and lo and behold—even though I went to the bathroom after sex, nothing happened.
So now we know how burning of the penis after sex occurs. We even know how to prevent it.
How to relieve burning in the urethra?
But what if it’s already “hit” us and you don’t know how to find relief to get rid of such sharp pain in the most sensitive part of your body?
There are two options. Either we just endure it (it usually lasts 10–20 minutes), or we take a hot shower.
It’s not that the burning sensation lessens, but your body focuses on something the shower, so you don’t notice the burning in your penis as much. But unfortunately, even after a long shower , the lingering burning sensation will still bother your mind for a while—personally, I wasn’t even able to think about anything else. It’s absolute hell, which I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Let alone myself—these problems will definitely teach you to stay properly hydrated, because you definitely don’t want to go through this again.
Alternatively, a doctor can advise you
If your penis is burning even though you haven’t been to the bathroom, something isn’t right. In this case, I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to head to a urologist (they can help with many male intimate issues).
Or you can try an andrologist (that’s the male equivalent of a gynecologist, but exclusively for men). It could also happen that after seeing a doctor, you’d have to inform all your lovers and girlfriends that you’ve caught this or that and they should get checked…
