Swingers Clubs: The World of Alternative Relationships and Excitement + A Practical Guide to Prague’s Clubs
Swingers clubs represent a specific and often controversial aspect of alternative culture that focuses on open and otherwise non-traditional relationships. These clubs provide an environment where people interested in unconventional forms of intimacy can meet and form relationships based on mutual consent.
In this article, we’ll explore what swingers clubs actually are, how they work, and what rules and ethics are common within them.
Last but not least, we’ll take a look at Prague’s swingers clubs.
What is a swingers party
To put it simply, a swingers party is a party like any other, but it’s possible to engage in sexual activities – whether with your partner or with another participant or participants – with mutual consent.
One of my friends said after visiting a swingers club:
“Hey, remember the Zlatý strom disco? There were more half-naked girls there than here, and people were having sex there too. At least here you have the option to go to a designated area and enjoy yourself in a way other than on those gross little toilets!”
I think her summary is actually pretty accurate. You have the option to watch. You have the option to participate.
You have staff who take care of cleanliness, plenty of condoms and lubricants – and most importantly – your safety!
To put it in a nutshell, swingers clubs are spaces where people gather to share intimacy with their partners and with others, often in the form of sexual interactions.
The atmosphere is usually relaxed and open, which encourages communication and interaction among .
Editor’s note:
We have covered the topic of swingers before in interviews and reports:
Most clubs have their own rules and guidelines designed to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.
Typically, visitors are expected to follow some basic guidelines:
Consent = all interactions must be based on consent. The absolute rule is the consent of all parties involved. You have the right to say NO at any time (yes, even during an ongoing activity) if you’re not comfortable with something.
Respect = respecting others’ personal boundaries is key. If someone isn’t interested in interacting with you, tough luck. On the other hand, if you don’t want to do something, others must respect that.
Safety = clubs prioritize safety, so there are plenty of condoms available everywhere, and their use is mandatory. Couples who came together are exempt, but from what I’ve observed, even couples and married pairs use protection at events.
Communication = is the cornerstone of the entire visit. If you want to truly enjoy your visit, it is important to openly communicate your expectations and desires.
Without that, no one can fulfill them for you.
As you can see, swinger culture emphasizes openness, honesty, and mutual respect. Many people who visit swinger clubs claim that this experience has strengthened their relationships, as creating such a space requires trust and communication between partners.
Some visitors may encounter prejudice from society, but for many, it is a way to explore their sexuality and enjoy new experiences in a safe environment.
Swingers clubs are not limited to a single culture or country; you can find them all over the world, although they may differ in approach and ethics.
For example, in some countries, such as the Netherlands, a culture of tolerance toward alternative relationships is more widespread, while elsewhere it may be stigmatized.

I’ll break it down into points. There are differences between clubs, and each has its own specifics, so this is a general scenario for a visit:
You arrive at the club. You pay the cover charge (in some places, you pay when you leave, along with your tab).
You’ll discuss with the staff whether you’ve visited the club before or if it’s your first time, and whether you’d like someone to show you around and explain what, where, and how things work (I highly recommend getting a tour, even if you’re experienced swingers and know other clubs).
In the cloakroom, you’ll leave your jackets and coats (depending on the season) and your phones.
Next, head to the bar, where you can order a drink of your choice (in some clubs / at some events, you’ll receive a welcome drink).
Then you can sit down in the lounge or hit the dance floor.
It’s up to you whether you chat just the two of you or join in a conversation with other guests.
If you’re in the mood, you can visit the sauna or the hot tub/pool.
Around 11 p.m., there is a dance performance/striptease (not always and not everywhere), where the last inhibitions usually fall away.
Throughout the evening, couples and groups move from the social area to the play area.
You have the option to move to the playroom and watch what’s happening there. If you feel like it, you can join in—with the consent of everyone involved.
In the play area, you can watch, enjoy time with just your partner, or join someone else. If you’re playing with your partner, someone else might want to join you. You always have the option to accept or decline.
You’ll have a good time, gain new experiences, and possibly make friends.
You pay the bill and go home.
Before You Head to a Swingers Club
You’ve already learned what a swingers club is, what the rules are, and what a typical visit looks like. Now I’d like to include—in my opinion, a very important—paragraph that mentions things you should pay attention to before heading to the club:
Choosing a companion = it’s best to attend such an event with a steady partner whom you know well and with whom you’re “on the same page .” It’s also nice to go with a friend. There’s also the option of going alone. A woman on her own can basically get into any event, while a man on his own has a much more limited selection.
Boundaries = Before attending such an event, it’s good to be aware of what you want to do and with whom, where your limits are, and how far you’re willing to go. I highly recommend discussing your limits with your companion. If you’re going with a partner, it’s important not to cross either of your boundaries. Open communication can help you avoid potential misunderstandings .
Choosing a club and party = individual clubs differ. Sometimes in small details and sometimes in fairly significant ways. It’s not just about choosing a club, but also about considering which party to attend. A shy girl who would rather just watch probably won’t fully enjoy a gangbang party, where there will definitely be more interest in her than at a couples’ event.
Appropriate Attire = At a party, you should follow the dress code and also feel comfortable in your outfit. It’s very hard to have fun if you’re wearing something see-through when you don’t have exhibitionist tendencies, or if they’re being chafed by beautiful but uncomfortable underwear.
Health = Carefully consider whether you are in good enough shape to attend a social event. This isn’t just about sexually transmitted diseases (most swingers get tested regularly, even if they practice safe sex), but also about COVID or a common cold.

Where to Go in Prague for Swingers
There are currently six clubs in Prague. Each club is different, and that’s a good thing—each targets a different clientele. You might not like every one, but that doesn’t mean no one else can enjoy a particular club. It really depends on your expectations.
For clarity, I’d divide the clubs into two categories:
Wellness type: has a wellness area (sauna and hot tub/pool), but no dance floor – Club Lublaňská.
Mixed type: has a wellness area as well as a dance floor and a pole – Bunkr, Desire, Fantasy, Paradiso.

Conclusion
Swingers clubs represent an interesting and often ambiguous world that offers opportunities to explore intimacy and relationships beyond traditional boundaries. It is important to keep in mind that every individual experience is unique and influenced by the personal values, comfort levels, and expectations of all participants.
For those who decide to visit this environment, a swingers club can be a place where desires and experiences are shared openly and safely.
I have tried to cover the topic comprehensively, but you may have further questions. Please feel free to contact me and ask for more information.

Shaien and I also discussed the topic of swinging and swinger events in person during a 2-hour podcast—it’s out now! You can listen to it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms—or right here in this article!
