We have covered many aspects of sex life on our magazine – mainly erotic aids and practices, but also places where you can enjoy yourself and problems related to sex. But there is one area that we have not covered yet. Can you think of any?

A moment of suspense…

Yes there are sex positions. What are they? Which ones are the most popular? And which are the most intense? Which ones, on the other hand, hardly anyone knows? And which ones can you forget right away? That’s what we want to explore in a new multi-part series.

It seems pointless to write here what sex is. Each of us thinks of the word “sex” in a slightly different way. For some people it is just the act of a man and a woman joining together, others talk about sex with their partner as lovemaking.

But I can’t shake the feeling that even now, when the word sex is spoken loudly in public, many people consider it something derogatory.

But why? Isn’t that a shame? Sex is nothing to be ashamed of, on the contrary, it is so exciting to talk about.

Distinguishing Sex Positions – Quick and Easy

The field of sexual positions is, however, rather disparate. We can divide them by position (lying down, standing, from behind), we can divide them into positions suitable for anal sex, oral sex, penetrative positions, etc. My goal is to give you, the reader, an overview of each position within a few articles.

Some positions are familiar to everyone, but the field of sexual positions is so broad that I’m sure you’ll forgive me if I mention some general information about each position, after all, these articles may not be read only by a sex guru, but also by a beginner looking for inspiration.

I will be open with you in the articles, and if I think of a nice story or useful advice, you can look forward to me sharing it with you. Let’s do it then 🙂

Sex positions under our scrutiny

In general, sex positions can be said to include various forms of intercourse and other sexual activities between people. Individual sexual acts can generally be described by the positions that the participants take during these acts.

In the past, Alfred Kinsey used the category of six primary positions.

very provocative.

He asked very intimate questions of the people who participated in his research. We wouldn’t find that strange today. However, I definitely recommend reading a little more about Alfred Kinsey, because he really is a very interesting figure in the field of human sexuality.

And we have a lascivious tip for those who read

I would also like to recommend a book to you. It is The Joy of Sex by English author Alex Comfort. It is a sort of illustrated manual of sexual positions, which was first published in 1972 (but a new updated edition was published in 2008). In the book you will find many interesting and lesser known positions.

But to return to our main topic. The number of positions that can be used during sex is basically unlimited and inconsistent.

Division of love positions – or how they differ

In general, we can divide the positions during sex according to the following scheme.

1) Penetrating partner on top, approaching from the front

Positions involve sliding the penis or other phallic objects into the vagina or anus. This group includes mainly the missionary position, as well as lesser-known positions such as the so-called “missionary position. In general, we can say that the basis of these positions is that the receiving partner is usually lying on his back – down and the penetrating partner is above him – up.

2) Penetration from behind

Most of these positions can be used for both vaginal and anal penetration. This includes, for example, the doggy position, spoon position, etc. The main characteristic is that the penetrating partner approaches the receiving partner from behind.

3) Receiving partner on top

Positions can be performed both vaginally and anally.
In these positions, the penetrating partner may lie on his/her back and the receiving partner kneels on top of him/her. The very well known cowboy/cowgirl position (i.e. on a horse), the so-called sideways position, etc.

4) Sitting and kneeling

Can be used for vaginal and anal penetration. Popular positions here include the pot-pushing position, lotus position or lap dance.

5) Standing

This position can be practiced for both vaginal and anal penetration. In the basic form of the position, both partners stand face to face and different variations are possible. According to Kamasutra, the well-known position is total intercourse.

6) Specific positions for anal intercourse

Most penetrative sex positions can be adapted for anal intercourse (especially those in which one penetrates from behind). These include the doggy position, bouncy position, classic missionary position, spoon position, reverse missionary position, etc.

7) Less common positions

These are positions that are more innovative but not as widely known and practiced as the ones listed above. Here we can mention, for example, the T-square, seventh position, modified T-square or ramrod position.

8) Use of furniture or special apparatus during sex

In general, we can say that a large part of sex acts are performed in bed. However, it is definitely possible to choose other options and use, for example, forms of erotic furniture or other devices (e.g. swings, trapezes, etc.) that are tailor-made for sex play.

Erotic furniture refers to variously modified pieces of furniture for sexual intercourse. Furniture may also contain various aids. These include, for example, taburette with vibrator, fucking machine (aka fucking machine or sexmachines – their reviews and tests are here), vibrating stimulation bike saddle cover, artificial penis mounted on a special rod, inflatable pads (suitable for padding buttocks, hips, etc.), special bed covers, JAZ – a pad for more comfortable lovemaking, Loverators, etc.

9) Positions to enhance or limit fertility

Any form of sex between a fertile woman and man in which semen comes into contact with the vaginal area, without protection in the form of contraception, results in pregnancy. However, no position or position is a reliable protection against pregnancy.

Don’t worry you won’t lose the practice, but the next time sex positions are in action

In this first article, we’ve covered some general information on sex positions, introducing a general breakdown as well as (hopefully) some interesting information. I promise that the next installment will be less theoretical and focus more on individual techniques (for lesser-known positions), various tips, and my own assessment.
